A room for little adventurers, with enough space for big dreams. That was the feeling with which we put together this mood board. Think of a lovely wooden bed, a soft brown beanbag to snuggle into, and a poster wall that makes you smile automatically. Sporty, but with the warmth and tranquility that make a children's room so cozy.
The base is our Wavy Stripes wallpaper in forest green. The muted green, the soft light stripes, and a few rust-brown details combine to create a cozy combination. Not a sterile gym, but a private spot to play, read books, and unwind at the end of the day.

Wavy Stripes forest green as a calm eye-catcher
Of Wavy Stripes forest green The room immediately gains character. The wavy vertical stripes add movement to the wall, while the natural colors keep the overall look soft. That is exactly what we love about this design: it is playful enough for a nursery and calm enough to grow with for years.
In the room layout, the wallpaper runs upwards from a light base wall. The light area at the bottom creates a sense of air and connects the stripes with the bedding and poster backgrounds. A narrow finishing strip makes the transition smooth and neat. You can also create the same atmosphere with one fully wallpapered accent wall and the remaining walls in a warm, light shade.
When choosing the wall, pay close attention to what you see when you enter the room. The wall by the bed or a cozy reading nook is often a good starting point. Additionally, keep a few larger areas simple so that the wallpaper really stands out.

Green, cream, and rust brown: a color palette with warmth
Forest green forms the calm anchor of this room. Cream and warm beige make it light, while brown and rust-colored accents create that cozy, almost vintage atmosphere. The wood of the bed and the frames complements this naturally.
You don't have to use all these colors equally. Let the lighter shades reappear on the larger, calm surfaces and choose green for the wall. Then, add just enough pizzazz with a rust-brown poster, a small lamp, or a cushion. In the mood board, you can also see how a single darker brown beanbag adds more depth to the entire palette.
When choosing a wall color, bring a wallpaper sample along and view the combination at home, by the window and in evening light. A warm, light color can look very different on a screen than next to your floor. The mood board provides direction; ultimately, your own room determines which shade feels best.
Three sports posters that tell a story together
The American Football dog is the friendly eye-catcher of the poster wall. His cream outfit and brown fur complement the natural base beautifully, and the warm red details give him just that touch of character. A tough little friend with a gentle appearance.

In addition, there is the American Football pattern poster. The repetition of the balls creates rhythm; the rust-brown background brings the warm accents from the room onto the wall. Because this poster is more graphic than the animal illustrations, it provides a nice counterpoint to the combination.
The Dalmatian Skater completes the trio. The little dog on his skateboard brings humor and a touch of adventure. The cream background and rust-brown border match the other two posters, while the black dots add a small, playful contrast.

Hang the three designs as one compact group, as in the room illustration: a larger animal poster next to two smaller frames. Keep the spacing roughly equal and choose frames with the same wood tone. This way, the wall feels like a unified whole, even though the illustrations are very different. Lay the layout out on the floor first or try out paper templates on the wall before drilling.
Soft materials complete the room
The sports theme is present in the posters and a few recognizable details. The coziness comes mainly from the materials: warm wood, a soft beanbag, a nice rug, and textiles that invite you to relax. With this arrangement, the room remains calm and your child has space to add their own toys and treasures.
A basket for loose items and a designated spot for books make it pleasant in everyday life as well. Reserve a small area of free floor space for playing and position the reading nook close to daylight. A small lamp with warm light gives that same corner a completely different, cozy atmosphere in the evening.

This is how you translate the mood board into your own room.
Start small: choose the wall and wallpaper first, and then see which colors are already in your furniture. A wooden bed doesn't need to be replaced to achieve this atmosphere. With sports posters, a warm light wall color, and one soft brown detail, you'll already be well on your way.
Would you prefer something a bit bolder? Let rust brown and dark wood feature more prominently. If you want to keep it softer, give cream and beige more space and use the dark shades only in small accents. That way, the room remains entirely your own.
We hope this mood board helps you visualize the room a little bit already. A place with character, soft corners, and cute sports friends on the wall. Take your time viewing the linked designs and choose the combination that makes you both happy.
